Importing plywood from India to Saudi Arabia
Companies that import plywood from India to Saudi Arabia usually sit in one of two camps. The first is construction: formwork contractors and scaffolding suppliers consuming film-faced shuttering plywood across the Kingdom's project pipeline, where a panel that survives repeat pours matters more than anything else on the invoice. The second is industrial packing: fabricators, machinery exporters, and project-cargo packers buying packing-grade plywood for crates and cases. We manufacture for both, and Saudi Arabia is a core lane in our export book alongside the rest of the GCC.
Quotes are issued in USD on FOB Cochin terms, so your landed cost stays transparent. You control the freight and the clearing; we are responsible for the cargo until it is delivered on board at Cochin. Under Incoterms 2020 the delivery point is on board the vessel, not the ship's rail.
Routing: Cochin to Jeddah and Dammam
Containers stuff near our facilities in Perumbavoor, about 40 km from Cochin Port. From Cochin, Jeddah Islamic Port covers the western province and the Red Sea corridor; King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam covers the Eastern Province and reaches Riyadh by road. Both lanes carry regular container services, direct or via transshipment, and any forwarder can lift from Cochin without special arrangements — it is a mainstream Indian export gateway.
Plywood is dense cargo, and a container weighs out before it cubes out. We plan each loading around the carrier's payload limit and the destination road rules, confirm the sheet count with you before stuffing, and send the packing list with net and gross weights before the vessel sails.
What we ship to KSA
The range below covers most Saudi enquiries. Okoume is available as a face veneer on packing and BWR constructions where a lighter, cleaner face is wanted.
| Product | Grade notes | Typical KSA use |
|---|---|---|
| Film-faced shuttering plywood | Dense film faces built for repeat concrete pours | Slab, column, and wall formwork |
| Packing-grade plywood | MR, IS 303; 6, 8, 12, 15, 18 mm typical | Machinery crates, boxes, industrial packing |
| Commercial / BWR plywood | Okoume face veneer option | Fit-out, joinery, lighter clean-faced panels |
| Marine plywood | IS 710 BWP | Wet-area and marine joinery |
| Plywood boxes, crates, pallets | ISPM-15 compliant process on assembled units | Ready-made export packaging |
Documentation support, SASO and SABER
Saudi clearance runs on paperwork, and conformity registration under SASO's SABER platform sits with you, the importer of record. What we do is make those filings straightforward: every consignment ships with a commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, and technical data sheets, and we answer document requests from your conformity consultant or clearing agent while the registration is in process — not after the container has sailed. Tell us at enquiry stage what your conformity route requires and we build the document set around it.
One point that saves KSA buyers time and money: plywood panels are exempt from ISPM-15, because plywood is processed wood. The panels themselves need no fumigation or heat-treatment marking. Assembled boxes and crates are a different matter, and ours follow an ISPM-15 compliant process — the distinction is explained in our note on heat treatment vs methyl bromide.
Commercial terms
Standard products are quoted at 50% advance with the balance before dispatch; custom specifications are 100% advance. We accept bank transfer (T/T). Every consignment carries our material guarantee and ships with its test data — the panel that lands in Dammam matches the spec sheet you approved from Kochi. We do not publish rates: plywood pricing moves with veneer and resin markets, so a current quote against your exact thickness, size, and quantity is the only honest number.
